We've been playing a few shows around town, but want to be playing a lot more. Does anyone have any suggestions or contact? We play that old time rock n roll with some blues n funk thrown in. You can hear us at myspace.com/soulfacemusic - let us know what you think.
-Thanks

Hey, my group just got this email:

I would like to have ------ perform at this year’s Summer Shade Festival in Grant Park (August 25th and 26th).

Here are the details about the performance. There is not a PA system/stage for this gig. This literally is an unplugged performance, and it will be in the park. Would you be comfortable with performing without a PA system?

The festival is free which means it is not ticketed. The gig is unpaid. However artists can sell CDs and have a tip jar if desired.

On Saturday and Sunday, the show will start at 12:00pm and will end at 8pm. Each act will perform a 40 minute set. There is a 20 minute break in between acts.

This will be a great opportunity for exposure for musicians. The Summer Shade festival will be promoted on radio, newspaper, and on the web. This year's attendance for the weekend is expected to exceed 15,000 people. Over 5,000 schedules will be printed for the festival. All of the band names and set times will be listed in the schedules. More information about Grant Park and Summer Shade can be found at http://www.gpconservancy.org/summershade

Please let me know if you are interested in performing. You can email or call me if you have questions.

Thanks,

Tim Walls

Red Light Cafe-- my friends just had a gig there, and the theme at the Red Light Cafe was somewhat blues-y. The bad news-- you have to get at least 50 people there to make a good deal of money from the venue....
