I'm going up there tomorrow (Saturday) and plan on spending the whole day there. Probably be downtown during the day and after dark. Any help is appreciated!

As long as you are with a crowd you should be okay. from 7th street and Broad up to say 12th street and Broad you should be fine. Stay where it's light and don't walk alone. Be careful when walking in front of abandoned storefronts because there are a lot of people squatting and camping out there, and people have been known to get mugged. But most of this occurs below 7th and broad. So just stay out of the grey areas, don't walk alone. Saturday there are usually foot patrolers and lots of cops down there, so I wouldn't get too worried over it. If you want a good place to eat check out the Boll Weevil. Great food and deserts to die for. It's near the riverwalk on 9th street.

It's completely safe... If you're Superman. Otherwise I'd get outta there before dark, that's when the crazies come out.
