Downtown Decatur is nice and has a few restaurants, shops, condos, and lofts. North Decatur (Neighborhoods north of East Ponce de Leon) has many middle/middle upper class neighborhoods with many white, black, and middle eastern residents. South Decatur has a few middle class neighborhoods and a lot of ghetto neighborhoods. Ghetto neighborhoods are areas surrounding Glenwood Rd, Memorial Dr, Candler Rd, Columbia Dr, and Snapfinger Rd. Over 95% of South Decatur residents are black.

Not all of it.

But like any city there are low income areas in Decatur. Calling the entire city a ghetto is a gross misrepresentation. For the most part Decatur is an upper middle class town very close to the city of Atlanta.

No it is not.

I have been there.

In every city, there are ghettos. I have travelled by it with no problems.

I hope I helped
